Tingo Teams on This Week in Startups
TingoTeams Gets Job Scheduling
Today we updated the TingoTeams web dashboard, adding support for job scheduling.
First is the the ability to set a date and start/finish time on a job:

Next, we’ve added a variety of different ways to filter and view lists of jobs. In the screen shot below, we’re looking at the Today’s Jobs screen (which also shows any overdue jobs).
We’ve improved the layout of this page to look more like a time sheet and changed the information displayed for each job to show job and reference numbers, the job’s suburb and the contact name.
On the right, you can see the other available views.

And finally, we’ve added a calendar view. Each day is colored according to how much work is scheduled for that day. Anything that needs attention is highlighted in red:

Scheduling support is available now in the web-based dashboard, and an updated iPhone app will be available as soon as it’s approved by Apple.
As always, we’d love to hear what you think of these latest improvements - or anything else for that matter!
Real-time Messaging in the Dashboard
We consider TingoTeam’s messaging to be one of it’s strongest points - especially on the iPhone where it works at least as well, if not better than SMS.
The web dashboard however didn’t work quite as well because new messages were only shown when refreshing a page or moving to another page.
Over the last week or so we’ve been working on rectifying this and the dashboard now supports real-time messaging. Now, you can be viewing any dashboard page and as soon as someone sends you a message it will instantly appear in the sidebar:

You don’t need to do anything to get this new functionality - it’s available now to everyone using the web dashboard.
Mobile Dashboard Release
Not content with only supporting desktop browsers and the iPhone, this week we’ve been working on the mobile version of the dashboard website.

Although not quite as elegant as the iPhone app, the mobile dashboard supports all the functionality of TingoTeams allowing users with other phones to use the service.
To use the mobile dashboard, simply bring up your phone’s web browser, navigate to m.tingoteams.com and login.
Please note that because of the large number of mobile phone devices we’re not in a position to test the mobile site on every device. As such, the mobile dashboard may not appear identically on all phones. If you encounter issues that you believe should be rectified please let us know.
New Web Dashboard
Today we released a new version of the web dashboard for TingoTeams.

Included in this release is a brand new, cleaner look and feel. We’ve improved nearly every page in subtle (and sometime not so subtle) ways and more efficient pages means the whole site runs faster.
This version of the Dashboard is intended for use by in-the-office managers with desktop browsers or on-the-road staff with notebooks (or netbooks) and web access. An optimized version for mobile phone browsers is in the works and should be available soon.
This release also makes all the functionality of the iPhone app available through the browser, making it even easier to manage your mobile team.
TingoTeams for iPhone Now Available
Today, we’ve released the first version of TingoTeams for iPhone.
